District Wide Broadcast Message

Welcome to Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School (CCRMS), a beacon of innovation and opportunity in East Palo Alto! We are proud to be the first new school in our community in over 35 years, and our state-of-the-art campus reflects the bright future we envision for all our students. From cutting-edge classrooms and athletic facilities to vibrant playgrounds and outdoor spaces designed for teaching, learning, and relaxing, CCRMS is a place where students thrive. Our new outdoor amphitheater and amazing athletic and recreational areas stand as a centerpiece of this campus—a symbol of creativity, collaboration, and community. As well as showing our community that we believe in providing a physical campus that truly supports the growth of the whole child.
At CCRMS, we are deeply committed to upholding the Ravenswood Promise and fostering a learner profile that ensures every student is prepared for success in high school and beyond. Our rigorous academic instruction is paired with incredible extracurricular offerings that inspire and engage our students. From Robotics and Jazz Band to Mariachi, Dance, Drama, and Art classes, students can explore their passions and develop new talents. Our athletic program is second to none, competing—and winning championships—within the Art David League, which spans teams from San Jose to San Carlos.
Beyond the classroom, CCRMS offers an outstanding array of after-school programs to enrich the student experience. Students can experience hand-on STEAM programs and obtain skills and opportunities to purse future careers in tech at the Circuit, develop tennis skills and receive tutoring with EPATT, practice mindfulness and learn about Polynesian culture with Anamatangi, or dive into bike repair and activities with Live in Peace. Additionally, our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club ensures a dynamic mix of academic support and exciting activities for our students on a daily basis.
CCRMS is more than a school—it’s a community dedicated to empowering students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed. We invite you to join us in shaping the future for our students, our families, and East Palo Alto.

Ravenswood City School District

The Ravenswood City School District (RCSD) in San Mateo County is a unique academic environment that draws from the culturally rich communities of East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park. The ethnic make-up of the population is predominantly Hispanic (80%), African American (9%), Pacific Islander (12%) and other (4%). RCSD serves more than 1,500 students in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. We have one comprehensive middle school serving grades 6-8, and three elementary schools serving TK-5th grade (one is a dual language Spanish immersion school).
